Cardiff Airport is a big international airport serving the United Kingdom and as such there are a large number of car hires at the airport itself. However, there is a Thrifty in Cardiff, located on Ipswich Road that is open 8.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday and 8.30 to 12.30 on Saturdays; it is closed Sundays. If you ring up the branch and book a car hire, it may be possible that they run a service whereby they can drop the car off for you at the airport for you to pick up when you arrive and set off, rather than having to travel all the way into Cardiff to get it.

When you book a car hire with Thrifty they offer you the choice of their standard range of car hires, or their prestige range. Their normal set includes Ford Fiestas, 3 and 5 door, a Vauxhall Astra, VW Golf or VW Passat. However in their prestige range you can rent high end BMWs, Jaguars and 4x4s such as Range Rovers.
