Although I know have two children, since the time when my first child was old enough to travel, I have made it a point to go on trips with family. The reason that I think it is so important to take my wife and two children on trips with me is because it gives us an opportunity to not only bond with each other, but to have true fun with each other. Since we are all normally so busy with our daily lives, we don’t necessarily get to spend as much time with each other as I would like (although I know it is safe to say that we spend much more time together than the average family). However, when we go on a family trip together, we get a week or so where we get to spend time with each other without any distractions. I think this is very important for any family, and I know that we get a lot of benefits from doing this. In my opinion, too many parents fail to acknowledge the fact that their children aren’t going to be young forever, and that sooner or later, the opportunity for things like family trips are going to disappear.

For our latest trip together, we all went to Cardiff. This was our first time visit a city in Wales, and after our trip was over, we all agreed that we were glad we went on this trip because we had a lot of fun (and not just because we were with each other). We did plenty of fun things during our time in Cardiff, and it makes me feel good to know that my children are going to have lots of great memories to keep for a long time.
